Timeline:
Since the last entry 4 months ago, been
up to a few hikes and
a backcountry
camp
trip in Kananaskis country.  No
lack of material for these webpages.

Just gotta get to the entries.  Four new
entries for now
are nordic ski trips done
around 2010 New Years:
-Dawn Mountain near Golden, BC
.
-2 at Radium Hot Springs, BC area.
-Nipika Nordic Ski Trails, BC and
area.  See the Adventure pages.
Also, have a few new paintings to put
on the paintings page......that'll be
happening soon!
The next few Adventures I'd like to
add are some backcountry trips from
the past few years in Banff National
Park.  I'd like to get caught up on at
least some of these posts so the
Adventure pages could get to the
present......so many pics to show!

Lately doing the usual outdoor stuff,
although not as much as we'd like.
Guess sometimes you get busy with
other things and the time goes by.....
gotta watch out for that....  Have gone
on a few ski tours lately including: Elk
Lake Trail near Banff town, Mt Shark
X-country ski trails, and West
Kootenay Trail from Kootenay
Crossing to the park bound
ary and
back.  Would like to get these on the
Adventure pages, as I do have some
photos of these places and would like
to share the experiences.  Still have to
get what we did over Xmas on the site.

Ski touring hasn't been all the outdoor
stuff we've been up to.  Being that the
weather hasn't been too wintery, hiking
has, and is still, an option in some areas.
The lower elevations of the Bow Valley
from Banff town to the east have been
very hik
able, with cleats in areas.  In
January we hiked on the Baldey and
Lusk Pass Trails; not up to the passes;
just an ~8 km loop with about 200 m
elevation gain (max ~1590 m).  We were
walking on hard snow a bit, but just in
the shady spots.  Just over a week ago
we hiked around the Canmore area on
the south facing slopes and had virtually
no snow, but thin ice here and there on
the trails made for wearing cleats a good
idea.  Temps that day were around 10
or more  degrees C and sunny.....great
stuff!

Also since the last update the rest of
the Fish Lakes hike has been posted
(see the link on the Adventure page),
and a couple paintings completed but
not put on the site.  One or both
paintings may appear on the Paintings
page depending on their look after
being varnished.  Drying time is going to
be a factor of when they can be
varnished as well.

In the last month not doin so much
outdoors other then a couple of nordic
trails that will most likely be put into the
Adventure pages at some point.  The
exception was Xmas holidays; that week
was spent outside quite alot.  This'll
include an Adventure page for X-
country skiing in the near vacinity of
Radium, BC and a page for the Dawn
Mountain ski trails in Golden, BC,
coming soon.  Also, I'll add a page for
the Nipika Ski Resort trails that we
did.  Nipika is in a forest district
between Kootenay National Park and
Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park.
For now I have added more info to the
Ti Jurabi Chuby hike.

ForestEchoesArt.net       online!

For the last while....before going online
:
Working on this website and getting
some artwork done too.
Been doing a bit of X-country skiing
around Banff and Kananaskis areas,
getting some pics of snowy scenes.
Even made a video (low quality, but fun)
of a ski tour  we did in the Lake Louise
area.  The video clip is on the
Adventure page, Fairview Trail.  We
went for this ski on Nov. 15, 2009.

I've been putting alot of work into
building this site lately, and it has been a
learning experience.  Although I haven't
had to learn alot of html, knowing some
and where to place it in the pages
before hand, would have been very
helpful.  Any code that I learn/use
comes from  "how to, tutorial, and info."
websites.  The internet has been a
fantastic source of information for this
purpose.
I've also been sizing and mildly editing
photos, getting them from camera to
these pages.
